FLEDGLING, Mark A. COOPER

February 24, 2011

Jason Steeds mother died when he was four and he was sent to live with his father who is mean and takes him for granted. As a young boy Jason was introduced to the British sea cadets, a group where the boys are trained to become lifelong military men. He finds he likes it there and begins to participate in karate tournaments. During a routine training exercise Jason finds himself in the middle of a secret mission and finds out that he will be a key asset to the mission that has bombarded him. All throughout this book Jason is put through various tasks and battles. Through it all he still remains headstrong, intelligent, and hard-working.

I enjoyed the book because there was lots of action. I also enjoyed it because it was not your typical action book. There was the idea of a movie playing in my head every time I opened the book. Once I opened it, it was next to impossible to put down.  One thing and about the only thing that I didn’t like about was at times the author was trying to describe things and didn’t describe them in a manner for the age group the book is for would understand. Other than that it was a great book one thing I would suggest is that before allowing younger kids to read this book, have teachers or parents read it first because there is some sex once. This book is for those seeking action books as well as a great book that will leave a lasting impression as well as a moral in your mind.
