Angel By: James Patterson
Angel is the 7th book in the Maximum Ride series. The book leads off from the 6th book Fang, when Max is still heartbroken from Fang’s actions. She continues to be depressed about things, but still has that dilemma about having to save the world from the upcoming diaster. In the Maximum Ride series during the 2nd or 3rd book they develop Max’s purpose is to save the world. The past book ‘s”villains” are forgotten in Angel and the new threats are a frightening doomsday cult spreading across the world with a mind controlling ways whose motto is “Save the world: kill the humans.” As Max and her flock try to find more information about the new threat with other twists occuring, Fang is making his own flock. Later both flocks team up, and go to pairs to stop hte doomsday cult. Through out the book Max starts to explore her feelings towards the Dylan, and Angel starts to have a new attiude towards Max and her decisons.
I liked the book, because I enjoy the series so much. But I was a lttle disapointed about James Patterson’s choices in the book like Angel”s new happy behavoir towards Max and the flock, I mean Angel was very dark and scary in Fang and even pulled a gun out on Max and took over the flock. I didn’t really understand the new behavoir and everyone acting as if nothing happened in Fang. Also I don’t know if its just me but it seems like the same main story line in the last couple of books, Max having to save the world- saving it from whoever it was and then it just being forgotten in the next book. Lastly I hated the idea of Max and Dylan being interested in each other. Hopefully in the next book James Patterson gets the story line together more, and not making it typical.
