Ok, so heres what I managed to get. This girl, in China (at least thats where I think she is), is out looking for her friend. So suddenly, she sends out a “spirit coil” and connects to a man on a boat, and sees the person she was looking for. And while listening in to the conversation, through the guy her “spirit coil” another man starts yelling at her. So her attention is split and she proceeds to attack the man with her spirit. And thats as far as i got. Which was about 10 pages.

I could not stand to really read this book. There is a reason why I stopped after 10 pages. Part of the reason that I could not continue reading is that fact that through these 10 pages, they said each character’s name at least 10 times. It was very distracting. There is also the fact that there was no calm moments to start it off, no real alluding to an origin story. It just dove head first into the story. Really, I would not recommend this book to anyone. It hurt my head to try and read. And just so that it is known, I did try to read the book about 3 times on different occasions. its was just that bad.

Who doesn’t remember reading the Odyssey back in the day? The many challenges Odysseus and his crew had to face in order to return home from the Trojan battle in such a heroic effort…..well this story shows a whole new visual to this epic. Christopher Ford has gone back and opened up the dusty old pages of the Odyssey to bring you Stickman Odyssey: An Epic Doodle. This story is about a a man named Zozimos who, in the beginning, is lost at sea after a battle that his land had won, but this great victory ended in disaster when he lost his crew and ship when they were trying to return home to Sticatha. Zozimos is save by Athena’s magical power to draw things like a raft and leaves him with these words,”Find your way to Sticatha.” He drifts in the sea until he lands in Marinos Island where his first few sights were ladies bathing and clean water. But after this glorious sight he has seen golems take him away to prison. When he is called upon by the king to hear his story. As for the rest of this tale you’ll just have to pick up the book and see whats in store.

This book had a ton of humor for an epic tale! The drawing are of course all stick figures but who doesn’t love to see QUALITY work like stick figure draws? Other then this factor the story was well written and gave me a few good laughs here and there. If you need a good book to cheer you up a bit, this book would be it. As for a good story read, well, its better to just have it around the house for kids. But a good book none the less. If you need a good laugh pick this book up!

Eden and Az meet, but Az is not an ordinary boy by any means. There is just something different about him. Soon Eden finds out that Az is a half fallen angel. Then Az finds out that Eden is just a mortal with no path. In other words destined to commit suicide, after these mortals die they become known as Siders. However Eden is not a normal Sider. Az wants to go back to heaven but on his terms not theirs. Many of the fallen angels are after Az to get him to fall completely. They start to do whatever is necessary to get him to join, and that includes hurting people he loves. He is in a constant struggle to fight and protect Eden. The big question is will Az and Eden survive?

This is one of the strangest books I have read. However it was really good, kind of dark. The plot is a lot different than most other books. It’s not just a sappy love story, but a story with a deeper plot in figuring out what life is about for each individual. This was Leah Clifford’s first book and I am excited for the next in this trilogy.

So this one in a nut shell is how Future Africa can’t make any more babies. And WW3 just finished and the world is now in kind of “remnants” (but not quite like Fall Out), Now just saying that may peak your interest, but I have a problem with this book. One, is that they have made up lingo and culture. Now given that I don’t expect them in 2069 to have the same lingo as us, but it seems at times to try too hard, or to revert to what we use now. Like the term “S’teener”, I don’t even know how to read that! Another problem, is that in this book it seems a bit obsessed with the idea of the main female role being raped. Now I don’t know what it’s like, but I don’t like how it’s just every turn it’s the same thing. Does she wear like a skirt that like a strip of cloth or something? Finally I would say the thing that really separated me from this book was how alien Michael made it, I understand it’s a whole new world, but it is just difficult to understand and relate to some of the characters problems. They have problems that would be common for people of this age. You don’t see them as people but rather rag dolls in this whole ordeal. I really like to relate to my protagonists as it makes them more than just characters in my eyes, so when tragedy strikes you feel it as if was your friend going through it. That kind of feeling in your gut when expensive china breaker and you cringe.

Long story short, if you are in dire need of something “new” this will satisfy the need, but for any person who likes run of the mill, events after WW3 I would say a pass, but the whole part of the story where the explain “Africa can no has babies!”, I kinda chuckled as Michael doesn’t know exactly what he’s talking about when he talks about genes and what makes them change.

(can always use more cowbell!)

ReVamped by Lucienne Diver is the continuation of her first book Vamped. At the beginning, our sassy, sarcastic and very fashionable heroine, Gina, is faced with the worse dilemma she has ever had to deal with. She has to become a GOTH!!!! OMG!!!!! But don’t worry. It was for a good reason. If you remember from the last book, Gina and her group of vamps were approached by the Feds and were offered to work for them. Well, they said yes. And now Gina has to dress like a Goth for the assignment they gave to her, which is to infiltrate a high school where some of the students are totally PMSing and find out why. And the worse thing about the assignment is that she can’t hang out with her hot, sexy and powerful boyfriend, Bobby. As she searches, she makes new friends that she knows she has to give up, meets new and old enemies, and ends up facing two betrayals she didn’t see coming. And when she finds out why the strangeness is happening at this high school, she is horrified and knows that no matter what she has to save those students.

I would recommend this book because it is funny and you will fall in love with the characters. I liked it. It was funny and it sucked me in since the first paragraph. I loved how no matter what situation Gina was in, she could give you a witty and sassy comment for just about anything and how she could make a bad situation in to a funny one and she has an awesome fashion sense. If you lived the first book, then you will love this one. Middle school and high school girls should probably read this. Reviewed By Jessica J.

Kelly was the one who called the shots. Star of the high school football team, his girlfriend is the hottest cheerleader. Kelly can do no wrong. Patrick is getting tired of how perfect everything is for Kelly, but when the whole football team terrorizes the dorky, studious Edmund, things have hit a new low. After that Kelly wakes up not “himself.” The newfangled Kelly actually cares about Patrick, has habits that he has never had before such as smoking and playing pool. Patrick cannot believe the changes in his best friend. Kelly is flawed, and is having memory issues that have never happened before but when Kelly says he is in a mental institution and is forty years old, what will Patrick believe? What will his best friend do? How can he prevent it from happening?

I liked this book because it is about teen life, a situation that is done over and over, but has a new twist. I didn’t like how it took a while for the plot to hit the climax. Just as I was getting bored, however, the plot grabbed my attention. I think this book is geared to teenagers or young adult because it has understandable situations targeted for that audience. I believe other people would enjoy the book because it is about a simple twist of fate that changes the lives of two teenagers.

Kevin has learned his lesson and stopped lying, but he has no “walking around money.” Kevin has his eye set on a girl at school but he feels as though the only way he can get this girl, Tina Zabinski, Is to become filthy rich by any means necessary. Kevin tries his luck with friendly poker games that become a little less friendly and a baking project that turns sour. Throughout the book Kevin tries to come up with more and more ideas to make money so he can ask the beautiful Tina Zabinski to the school dance. The outcomes of Kevin’s various projects will determine whether Tina Zabinski will take his arm at the dance.

Although this book is for a younger audience, the humor and adventure of it keeps you hooked. The young go-getter named Kevin finds himself in a plethora of situations that will make or break his chances of becoming filthy rich. I really enjoyed this book because I could really connect and compare myself to Kevin because just like every young kid, I dreamt of being successful and rich when I was young. Kevin gets himself into situations that are fun and humorous. I would recommend this book but to a younger audience. Although it was a fun read I feel as though you need to be younger to truly appreciate the humor and story.

Chance has the opportunity to gain money so he and his father can survive on their house boat. The task he is presented with is simple; all he needs to do is do his usual running route except check every day to see if there is a bag under a rock near the beach. If there is one, he simply needs to put the bag in his backpack then run it to his end point and place it in a crack between the rocks. There isn’t always a bag there so some days Chance just runs his normal route without having to worry about carrying anything. When Chance’s suspicions begin to arise because the packages haven’t been taken he begins to bring them to his house and collect them under his bed. Soon Chance is told that the packages need to be returned and it was his final chance. When Chance opens one of the packages he realizes he has a choice to make.

This is one of the best books I’ve ever read it truly had the perfect plot. Every part of the book is interesting and leaves the reader enthralled. The concept of action mixed with some mystery kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. The author’s specific use of details to only give a brief over view ensured I would keep interest throughout the whole book. Anyone who enjoys a good story with a little suspicion and some action would surely appreciate this book. It’s a book that should be read because overall it is a nail bitter and will keep anyone entertained.

Have you ever wanted to sit back and read something truly gory, and full of highly detailed real action combat? Berserk is the series for you. It starts off with the main protagonist moving through fighting demon after demon, showing his past then his current story. This series is still continuing but with well over 20o chapters to work through, there is a huge amount of content to enjoy.

But wait, what if you want a good story? Berserk’s got you covered, it’s an incredibly vast deep story. Each character deeply detailed in their motivation, and their emotions, growing as the story unfolds. Willing to go into the fears and ideas of murder, sexual scars and other fields, he doesn’t hold back. This series has a kind of Greek tragedy set up to it, and is extremely well worth the read.
