Halo, by Alexandra Adornetto

February 25, 2011

A trio of angels, Gabriel, Ivy, and Bethany descends to Earth to try and rid the town of Venus Cove dark forces. What the siblings didn’t count on was the youngest and the most human, Bethany, falling in love with a human named Xavier. She reveals her secret to him and they forge a bond stronger than any other. A new kid, Jake Thorn, arrives and becomes incredibly popular very fast. Then bad accidents and deaths start occurring. The angels conclude that Jake is the cause of all the sudden chaos. His groups of followers are just bodies possessed by the damned spirits of the underworld. Jake invokes a battle with the angels but disappears, never to be seen again. Who will win the battle, Jake or the angels?

I did enjoy this book a lot because of the plot and the way it was written. I would recommend it to anyone who likes fallen angels or anyone who liked the Twilight series  because it includes the same forbidden love between two very different worlds. The only thing I didn’t like about this book was the fact that it was very mushy at times. I understand that they are in love but at times it was too much and just needed more action or conflict. Other than that I’d recommend it to any teenage girl who enjoys forbidden love stories.
